影片聚焦鲍尔和阿纳兹，现实中是夫妻的两人在经典情景喜剧《我爱露西》也出演一对，片名中的“里卡多”是两人在剧中角色的姓，故事设定在《我爱露西》拍摄中的一个工作周，从周一的剧本围读到周五的有观众拍摄，在此期间两人遭遇了巨大危机，事业可能终结，婚姻也可能泡汤。 历史上，是鲍尔向《我爱露西》剧方要求自己的丈夫阿纳兹也出演该剧(本剧改编自鲍尔的热门广播剧)，CBS一度不太愿意，担心观众不喜欢看一个很“美国”的女主角与一个古巴裔男子在一起。

She’s in shock to find out that Reiko – her aunt – is a local Ama-San, a traditional Japanese pearl diver. Reiko is her mother’s identical twin sister. Because of the yearslong conflict between the sisters, the aunt and the girl have never met or even heard about each other till now. The aunt is reluctant to welcome the girl, who reminds her of her bitter past, and wants to get rid of her. Natsumi has to find a way to resolve the old conflict and reunite the family to find the underwater treasure left by her mother and save herself from the big trouble she is in. Japanese 1990s pop songs from the aunt’s youth will be an unexpected ally.
